NEAR is...

A collective, consisting of an ever-expanding network of global community members, developers, and creatives. A foundation, that exists to foster ecosystem development and innovation through grant funding. A Blockchain, NEAR is a sharded, proof-of-stake, layer-one blockchain that is simple to use, secure and scalable.

Introduction

Blockchain technology has ushered in a new wave of innovation. It has the potential to disrupt incumbent systems and transform society as much as the internet has. Money, developers & entrepreneurs are flocking to it while we are all still trying to wrap our heads around its implications. The growth and transparency report for the NEAR ecosystem is meant to provide insight to curious individuals, entrepreneurs, colleagues, and industry experts. We want to inspire open dialogue about our current challenges and opportunities, share emerging and existing solutions, and understand ecosystem growth and gaps.

Goal:
At the end of the first cohort, which we expect to last 10 weeks, our goal is to have the Growth & Transparency report of the NEAR ecosystem, ready for distribution. We aim to create a framework for an evolving and consistent quarterly growth and transparency report.

Target Audience for report: Near Ecosystem and those interested in learning.

What you will get out of this

​

  • You can expect to deepen your knowledge about blockchain, on-chain, and off-chain metrics. The significance and interpretation of these metrics.

​

  • A holistic perspective of blockchain. As humans, we tend to overestimate what we can do in the short term and underestimate what we can accomplish in the long term. You will better be able to navigate the negative narratives and positive biases you come across and ground them in the reality of the development cycle of this technology.

​

  • Engage with pioneers and entrepreneurs in the industry. This is your open door to a new world of enthusiastic futurists, building next-gen tech, hoping to provide efficient new solutions to society.

​

  • Becoming a crypto-native. You will become familiar with the various components of blockchain tech such as NFTs, DAOs, Defi, wallets, and more.

  • Get your foot in the door to the NEAR ecosystem with a deep and valuable knowledge base. The blockchain industry is a space that rewards contributions. Start contributing, learning, and earning and opportunities abound for those interested in the space.

  • Working and coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Generating insights from on-chain & off-chain data.

​

  • Interpreting correlations between different variables.

​

  • Looking at the rate of change of metrics (2nd/3rd order effects)

​

  • Highlighting entrepreneurial accomplishments & ecosystem wins.

​

  • Discussing challenges and solutions the network is facing.

​

  • Using storytelling to highlight ecosystem projects and people.

​

  • Designing graphics & charts that are easy to interpret

​

  • Dissecting market trends
